Minions “market”, Queens shape culture (instructions enclosed)

Warning: if you are the sort of entrepreneur who wants to wake up, put out a few innocuous “free guides!”…enlighten precisely no one with vacuous Instatwink quote cards…and shimmy for favour with the Tiktwerk algorithm gawds… you need to stop reading this immediately.

It will demoralize you.

You have been warned.

Let me start with the basics. There is the CULTURE and there is the COUNTER-CULTURE.

The CULTURE is basically What Everybody Else is Doing, What Everybody Else Believes and How Everybody Else is Doing Things.

By definition, the vast majority of people uphold The Culture. In your industry, there is A Culture. When you go to an industry event and have a hard time distinguishing between any of the speakers, it’s because those speakers upheld The Culture.

When you compare the marketing messages of your competitors and you honestly can’t REALLY tell the difference between any of them or, (if you are being honest) YOU, then you all are upholding The Culture.

Marketing in The Culture is about positioning your offers like The Brady Bunch — likeable, not rattling the boat and upholding an accepted status quo.

You can completely make money marketing in The Culture. So if you are happy with this, fill yer boots as we say on the East Coast.

But if you want MORE, keep reading.

The COUNTER-CULTURE comprises two standpoints: The Culture is Broken and Here is a New Way.

Throughout the history of humanity, The Counter-Culture has always, always shaped the future of The Culture. No change happens without The Counter-Culture.

Therefore, when you choose to embrace The Counter-Culture, you become a Shaper of The Culture.

But when you choose to embrace The Culture, you become A Marketer.

(Important: I’m NOT talking about zealots and extremists who attempt to BREAK culture by throwing stones, yelling, storming capitols, inciting violence etc. They THINK they are the Counter-Culture but they are in fact Mouth Breathing Anarchists who can’t create, only destroy…)

Now that I have cleared this up, let’s get back to the true Culture Shapers…

Beyonce is a great example of a Shaper of Culture. She had tremendous success in The Culture — I remember watching her Superbowl Halftime Ad with Pink and Britney Spears! But she embraced her Counter Culture edge, and THAT was when she made her ascent from pop singer to one of the world’s most prolific shapers of popular culture.

If you want to be a Marketer in The Culture, there are many, many, many courses, coaches, and agencies who will help you channel your Inner Brady Bunch and get Lykes! Fans! Followers! On the feeds. You will carve out a nice business, make money and feel comfortable there.

But if you want to be a Culture Shaper…if you want your marketing to be actual art, if you want to rise to the top of your industry as a powerful and influential voice representing true and meaningful change…then you need to work with us.

It starts by setting clear boundaries around who you are FOR and NOT FOR, and deeply understanding WHAT YOU REPRESENT and HOW IT IS GENUINELY NEW AND DIFFERENT.
