Brave Not Perfect with Reshma Saujani, CEO and Founder of Girls Who Code

Eleanor Beaton

Reshma Saujani was sitting in a windowless conference room when her best friend called. She was 33, she had been “the perfect immigrant daughter”, but she was living a life she didn’t want. She hated her job and found herself asking: “is this it?” When she answered the phone and explained this to her friend, her friend told her to quit… so she did. She ran for the United States Congress, something she had dreamed about since she was a little girl. (And she was the first Indian American woman to do so, I may add.) And she lost. According to Reshma , it wasn’t even close. But when she woke up the next morning she discovered something important: She wasn’t broken. This was the beginning of Reshma living her life BRAVE NOT PERFECT. Reshma is the founder of Girls Who Code an international nonprofit organization working to close the gender gap in technology and the author of Brave, Not Perfect, an international bestselling book that shares a collection of personal stories and powerful insights and strategies to end perfectionism and embrace bravery. She joins me today on Fierce Feminine Leadership. Listen HERE.
